THE DEFINITION AND FORMATION CHARACTERISTICS OF LINGUISTIC TERMS IN THE KAZAKH LANGUAGE

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the state of listing the terms of Kazakh linguistics in special dictionaries, their scientific assessment and scientific definition. At the beginning of the ХХ century, in parallel with educational work, the problem of publishing dictionaries was carried out, while the main direction of the first dictionaries was understanding, acquaintance with words for special purposes, as well as studying terminization, special use of words and their definition on a scientific basis.

During the study, methods of description, definition, analysis were used regarding the essence and types of dictionaries. Reconciliations were carried out based on definitions issued by such Kazakh scientists as R. Syzdyk, T. Zhanuzak, S. Kurmanbayuly, A. Salkynbai, who considered the stages and features of the appearance of explanatory dictionaries in the formation of the Kazakh language as a special issue. The work of Yerbol Abdrasilov, who specially studied the issues of therminography, was specially considered and shown at the stages of the word formation process for scientific research.

The issues of grouping and systematization of terms to date have been analyzed. The results and conclusions of the research work proved that the terms of linguistics were brought into a thesarus system that meets the requirements for dictionaries in Soviet times, and scientific definitions of terms of linguistics based on analogues of the Russian language were compiled. The direction of research is valuable for specialists in modern linguistics to understand the essence of explanatory dictionaries.

The systematic organization of explanatory dictionaries and the uniformity of the lexical units they present make it possible to differentiate genuinely national models of linguistic terms. It should be noted that for a long time, words of foreign origin that were essentially barbarisms were used under the heading of “international terms.” By contrast, a modern thesaurus makes it possible to emphasize the potential for the terminologization of genuinely national (native) vocabulary.

It is important that the studied teaching be preserved in the national language and become the property of science. We consider a useful research article for linguists, undergraduates and students conducting scientific research.
