Abstract

The incidence of eye diseases in cattle causes serious economic losses due to a decrease in herd productivity, deterioration in the quality of milk and meat, delayed growth and development of young animals, as well as a decrease in the total live weight of animals. One of the most common and significant pathologies of the visual organs is keratoconjunctivitis in cattle, which can affect a significant part of the livestock and in some regions acquire the character of epizootics. The development of the disease is accompanied by inflammation of the cornea and conjunctiva, decreased appetite in animals, deterioration of their general condition and a decrease in economically useful indicators. In this regard, it is urgent to search for effective treatment regimens that can accelerate the recovery of animals and reduce economic losses of farms. The aim of the study was to study the therapeutic effectiveness of complex methods of keratoconjunctivitis treatment in calves. In the course of the conducted studies, it was found that the use of a complex treatment regimen using Tulatrin, Argumistin and Flunex drugs in calves of the second group promotes faster elimination of clinical signs of the disease, shortens the recovery time, prevents the development of complications and severe forms of pathology, and also significantly reduces the economic damage associated with diseases of the visual organs in young cattle.
