Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study of proper names in folklore, their role and significance in traditional culture. Folklore onomastics explores how the names of heroes, characters, objects, and places in folk tales, myths, and songs serve as an important tool for transmitting cultural and historical knowledge. The author analyzes various types of names, their symbolism, origin, and evolution, as well as their connection with the mythological and social aspects of life. Special attention is given to the name as an element that reveals the characteristics of a character, their role in the narrative, and their interaction with the surrounding world. The article analyzes Kazakh folkloric traditions, highlights the distinctive features of onomastics in Kazakh culture, and also examines the influence of folkloric names on the development of Kazakh literat.

The aim of this article is to explore the role of proper names in folklore, their innovation in traditional culture, and the process of transmitting cultural and historical knowledge through folk traditions, myths, songs, and other folkloric genres. As a result of the study, the author concludes the importance of folklore onomastics for the study of the culture and historical consciousness of peoples.
