Information For Authors

Article publication in the Bulletin of West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology (hereafter – the Journal) is carried out through the Open Journal System, i.e., a system of online submission and review. The system can be accessed via the Journal's website (section "Submit Manuscript").

The Journal is published quarterly (4 issues per year). Articles are accepted until the 10th day of the second month of each quarter (1st quarter – until February 10, 2nd quarter – until May 10, 3rd quarter – until August 10, 4th quarter – until November 10).

The editorial board does not offer assistance with literary and stylistic editing of manuscripts.

ARTICLE FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

FOR PUBLICATION IN THE SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL BULLETIN OF WKITU

 The scientific and methodological journal Bulletin of West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology accepts manuscripts in Kazakh, Russian, and English.

The journal publishes articles in the following subject areas:

  • The history of Kazakhstan
  • Language and linguistics
  • Education and pedagogical research
  • Veterinary medicine
  • Animal husbandry and zootechnics
  • Petroleum engineering
  • Construction technology

The article must be submitted electronically in .doc and .docx formats; to submit the article, upload the document via Open Journal System which can be accessed via the Journal's website (https://ojs.wkitu.kz). Articles should be formatted in accordance with GOST 7.1.-2003 "Bibliographic records. Bibliographic description. General requirements and compilation guidelines" adopted by the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification (Protocol No. 12 dated July 2, 2003). https://nauka.kz/upload/files/02._GOST_7.1-2003.pdf

The total length of the manuscript, including information about the authors, abstract, keywords, figures, and tables, must be between 7 and 17 pages in the A4 format (Microsoft Word editor).

Margins of the manuscript: 2.5 cm on all sides of the page, font – 12 pt, regular, Times New Roman, line spacing – single, alignment – width (with automatic hyphenation). First-line indent must be set to 10 mm., no page numbers are needed.

 

Figures, maps, photographs, formulas, tables, graphs, and diagrams should appear in the order in which they are mentioned in the text. References to figures in the text of the manuscript should be provided in regular font in parentheses - for example, (Figure 1). Figures should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals; figure titles should be listed in the center below the figure (Figure 1 – Figure Title). All visual materials must be of high quality.

Tables should be typed in the MS Word editor.  Tables must appear in the text of the article after the first in-text reference or on the next page. References to the table in the text should be appear in bold in parentheses – for example, (Table 1). The number and title of the table must be given on the left side of the page, above the table (Table 1 – Table Title). If the table continues onto the next page, the columns must be numbered, and a continuation statement must be provided on the next page on the right side above the table, for example, (Continuation of Table 1).

The number of figures, tables, graphs, and diagrams should not exceed 20% of the total length of the article (in exceptional cases the threshold may be raised to 30%).

Formulas and mathematical symbols must be created either in MS Word using the built-in formula editor, or in the MathType editor. Combining mathematical symbols with excerpts from formula editor to create a single formula is not allowed. The total number of formulas should be minimal (no more than 10). 

Tables, graphs, and formulas (must be grouped) should not exceed the specified margins.

All abbreviations and acronyms, with the exception of well-known ones, should be written in full when they are first used in the text.

The sequence of elements of the publishing formatting of materials is as follows:

The Interstate Scientific and Technical Information Rubricator – indicated on the left side, at the very beginning of the article, in the upper left corner (in accordance with the indexing guidelines that are publicly available in scientific libraries and online (https://grnti.ru).

DOI – on the next line after the Rubricator in the upper left corner (assigned and filled in by the Journal's editorial board);

Information about the authors (next line after the DOI) – centered, without paragraph indentation (, academic degree, academic title, full name of the institution where the work was performed, including information about the country, city, the institution's  address, and e-mails and six-digit ORCID ID of all authors); (Instruction for registration - https://orcid.org/)), the primary author should be listed first and the corresponding author should be indicated by an asterisk (For example, I.I. Ivanov

The title of the article, abstract, and keywords must be listed in three languages: Kazakh, Russian, and English; language sequence is determined by the primary language of the manuscript (e.g., if the article was written in Russian, the title, abstract, and keywords must first appear in Russian):

The title of the article – listed on the next line after the information about the authors; must be in the middle of the page, without paragraph indentation, in bold capital letters. The optimal length of the title is 5-10 words (in some cases titles of 15 words may be permitted);

Abstract – listed in italics on the next line after the title of the article with first-line indentation (abstract length must be 120-300 words); the abstract should describe the purpose of the work, the method or methodology of the conducted research, research findings, the value of research, the scope of its applicability to practice and offer a conclusion (alignment – by the width of the text, first-line indentation – 1 cm);

Key words – listed on the next line after the abstract, first-line indentation, italicized) serve to make the article discoverable and to determine its subject area.  The total number of keywords should be between 5 and 15 words/phrases (page width alignment, first-line indentation should be set to 1 cm);

The text of the article (next line after the keywords)  regular font, page width alignment, first-line indentation should be set to 1 cm.

The text of the article must include the following:

Introduction. This section of the article should offer a justification of the relevance and scope of the conducted research, formulation of the research objective, description of the object and subject of research, goals and objectives of the article, a brief description of the structure of the conducted research.

Materials and methods of research (except for the social sciences and humanities). In this section the author(s) must describe their research methodology and indicate the origin of equipment and materials, methods of statistical data processing and other procedures aimed at ensuring research validity.

Results and Discussion. This section must feature the description and interpretation of the research findings accompanied by numbers, tables, and figures (graphs, diagrams, illustrations).

Conclusion. In this section, the author(s) are expected to formulate conclusions based on the analysis of their research findings, contextualize their findings by comparing the results of their study with findings presented in existing research on this topic, and evaluate the scientific novelty and practical value of their findings. The conclusion must be written in a full-text format (i.e., not in a list format).

Information about funding (if available).

References – listed in the main language of the article, formatted in accordance with GOST 7.1-2003 "Bibliographic records. Bibliographic description. General requirements and compilation guidelines"; must include between 7 and 15 sources, including links to publications of the scientific journal Bulletin of WKITU. Self-citation should not exceed 1 (one) reference. The reference list must include at least 3 (three) sources published within the past 5-7 years (except for the social sciences and humanities).

References should be listed in the order in which they are mentioned in the text of the article. The first in-text citation should be numbered as [1], the second – as [2], etc. When referencing a finding from a book, the author(s) must indicate the book's number from the reference list, followed by the number of the page (separated by a comma) where this finding is indicated (For example, [3, p. 107]). References to unpublished works are not allowed.

The reference list should not contain references to normative documents, statistical collections, and newspaper articles. References to these materials should be provided in parentheses as they are mentioned in the text. References to websites must be made in accordance with GOST 7.5-98; electronic journals are preferred. 

If the article has been written in Kazakh or Russian, then the reference list must be transliterated into English – titled "References" (transliteration can be completed free of charge by using the following resources – http://translit-online.ru or http://www.translit.ru).
