EXTERIOR FEATURES OF DIFFERENT BREEDS OF GEESE AND THEIR HYBRIDS

Abstract

The article presents the results of the analysis of the exterior features of geese of various breeds, the identification of compatible parental forms of breeds and the assessment of hybrid young animals. The studies were conducted in the conditions of Bashkirskaya Ptitsa LLC in the Blagovarsky District of the Republic of Bashkortostan on geese of the parent flock of the Chinese White, Linda, Hungarian White, Kholmogory and Toulouse breeds. Five breeds of geese and hybrids were analyzed. The main measurements of the geese and ganders' constitution were taken, the correlation relationship was assessed and the constitution indices of the geese were calculated in accordance with the breed and gender. As a result of measuring the body measurements of the geese, no deviations from the standards were observed and corresponded to the breed types. A comparative analysis of the correlation relationships showed the presence of a high positive correlation between the exterior features reflecting meat qualities, constitution strength with live weight. According to the obtained results of calculations of the body indexes, geese of the Chinese White, Lindovskaya and Toulouse breeds, as well as hybrids, had the most pronounced meat qualities and data on the index of shortening of the lower part of the body. When evaluating the day-old young animals in reciprocal crossing, obtained using the White Hungarian and Toulouse breeds, the live weight indicators of day-old goslings were higher, where the Toulouse breed was the maternal form.
